Job Description
My client are a fast growing company who are looking for a production manager.
Job Purpose
Responsible for all operational aspects of Fan Assembly, Warehouse, Despatch and Purchasing activities.
Key Accountabilities
Overall responsibility for the Fan assembly and warehouse teams and purchasing of components and finished goods. Ensure they operate safely and within budget cost, service and quality standards.
€¢Identify and implement a culture of continuous improvement in the key areas of labour and equipment utilisation, purchasing and delivery performance. Track progress in key areas via a comprehensive range of KPIs
€¢Foster an open approach and communication style towards colleagues. Role model behaviour. Pursue regular communication routes with peer group/colleagues.
€¢Develop departmental budgets/targets on an annual basis. Adhere to monthly budgets, continuously monitoring performance. Investigate and resolve anomalies and discrepancies, implementing robust solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
€¢Develop opportunities for and measure employee involvement in departmental improvements and cost savings. Communicate the company/departmental goals, objectives and targets throughout the department.
€¢To partake in the following meetings: daily production, daily stock level control, monthly health and safety, monthly operations meeting.
€¢Involvement in grievance and disciplinary issues as required up to and including dismissal.
€¢Fully utilise and take ownership of the IFS ERP system including standard costing and despatch modules.
€¢Working closely with the Internal Sales team to ensure that the On Time In Full (OTIF) performance of the unit is consistently above 95%

In particular to comply with all procedures, safe working methods and practices and agreed rules to protect your own Health and Safety as well as others that may be affected by your actions, or omissions.
Fully support the Health, Safety & Environment Policy, as laid down in the Company procedures.

Knowledge, Qualifications, Experience and Skills (Competencies)
€¢In depth understanding of assembly, warehouse, despatch and purchasing processes and techniques.
€¢Ability to communicate at all levels and facilitate the passage and receipt of information.
€¢Proven track record in the management and motivation of people.
€¢Previous industrial engineering / assembly / costing experience.
€¢Good working knowledge of H&S requirements related to warehouse and assembly processes.
€¢Appreciation of ERP and stock control systems.
€¢Ability to manage people in a positive and proactive manner.
€¢In depth knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies and techniques.
€¢Passion for quality and a track record of continuous improvement.
